Birthday Week

When Phil and I got married, he said he didn't really think that birthdays were a very big deal. Well, I happen to think that birthdays are amazing and should be celebrated totally and completely and for as many days as possible.

Therefore, the Crepeaus celebrate what we call "birthday week". This is a glorious week where we do something together every day to celebrate the birthday boy/girl. We did it last year and we did it again this year, and let me just say, I think I've created a monster. Phil LOVES birthday week now. I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to just celebrating one day. Fine by me.

This year, we had a great time celebrating Phil's big 2-4. Every year since we started dating, we've gone to the Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival. That was first on the agenda. I'm sad we won't be here next year to make it a four year tradition, so maybe we'll have to make a road trip (Right Phil?).

The first time we went to the Tulip Festival, we snuck in Rancherito's burritos. We couldn't help but do the same this year.

Mexican food combined with tulips is my greatest dream.

We also had to feed the fish and sniff all the blossoms.

Tuesday we did a more manly activity. Yay baseball!

We, apparently, enjoy every activity with Mexican food so we brought tamales to enjoy as well.

We had a lovely UVU fail when the sprinklers turned on in the middle of the game. We couldn't stop laughing.

I love watching baseball with my hubby.

Wednesday was our day in... With lots of food. Lasagna and German chocolate cupcakes to be more specific.

Unfortunately Phil had to spend his actual birthday in Seattle for his research conference. I think one of his favorite parts was exploring the University of Washington campus. Doesn't it look like Hogwarts?

He also got to explore downtown Seattle. Isn't he a cutie?

Oh and between all the fun, he actually presented his research.

It was so great when he actually got to come home and open his presents. I love giving gifts (even if he already knew what they were).

Birthday week for Philly reminds me that I'm so happy this guy was born. Each day with him is such a party and I'm so thrilled to be his wife. Happy big 2-4 Phil. I love you!
